United for Libraries is accepting applications for the Baker & Taylor Awards, given to friends of the library groups and library foundations. Applications are due May 1, 2017.
Given annually since 2000, the Baker & Taylor Awards have recognized more than 45 groups for outstanding efforts to support their library. Two winning groups will each receive $1,000.
The awards will be given based on a specific project that took place or culminated during the 2016 calendar year. Applications are judged on planning, implementation, evaluation, innovation and community involvement.
Applicants must have a United for Libraries friends or foundation group membership valid through June 2017. Winners will be notified by June 1, 2017. Please contact United for Libraries to verify eligibility prior to preparing an entry. The application form is available at www.ala.org/united/grants_awards/friends/bakertaylor. Summaries of past award-winning projects can also be found on the website.
