Director of the Mortenson Center - UIUC

The Director of the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs of the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign (UIUC) provides dynamic and forward-thinking leadership for the Center's educational and outreach programs, making and maintaining meaningful connections with librarians and libraries around the world to meet the Center’s mission to promote international education, mutual understanding, and peace.  The Center’s goals and projects arise from what partner institutions and organizations see as pressing needs for librarians’ development and the Director must be able to respond effectively to these needs. The prestige of the Center and its work contribute to the Library’s reputation on campus and around the world.  The Director leads efforts to develop innovative training programs for librarians globally and works with Center personnel to secure grants and with Library administration to seek private gifts to fund ongoing and new programs and initiatives. To advance the Center's work, the Director initiates and sustains international collaborations, working with Library and university administration to implement these collaborations.

Senior Information Developer - OCLC (Dublin, Ohio)

We are currently seeking an Information Developer for our Dublin, Ohio Headquarters.  This position is responsible for ensuring that OCLC Member Libraries are successful in adopting and effectively using OCLC’s Products and Services.  This role is focused on ensuring that users of OCLC’s Products and Services have access to the most appropriate User Help (inc. Documentation, Tutorials, Online Help, Training, etc.) when and where they need it.  This involves evaluating the user’s needs and recommending solutions to meet those needs.  This role requires close coordination with several internal departments, such as User Experience, Development, Product Management, Training, Implementation, and Quality Assurance.

Assistant Librarian - Auburn Public Library

Collection Development and Access Librarian - Illinois Valley Community College (Oglesby)

The Collection Development Librarian provides leadership in the management of library resources and in providing service to the students, faculty and staff; facilitates access to print and electronic resources through implementation of conventional and emerging means; and guides all collection development and technical service functions.  Master’s Degree in an ALA accredited Library Science program; experience with library automation systems; teaching or training experience; and customer service skills required.  Supervisory experience and the ability to learn independently and excel in a rapidly changing, team environment preferred.

Youth Services Director - Rochester Public Library District

Visiting Archival Operations and Reference Specialist (AORS) - UIUC

This limited-term academic professional position assists with planning and implementing policies and procedures for services related to the Illinois History and Lincoln Collections and specifically coordinates appraisal, processing, digitization, access and outreach for the IHLC manuscripts, archival, and monographic collections. The incumbent assumes a leading role in the provision of services for these materials and will use specialized knowledge of records, standards, and techniques to assist faculty, administrators, students, and members of the public in locating, interpreting, and making research use of primary and secondary sources.  He or she will develop and implement plans to accession, arrange, process, describe and provide access to archival materials in analog and digital forms, in consultation with the Curator and with functional experts in other Library units, such as University Archives, Preservation and Conservation, and Digital Content Creation. The position assists in the supervision of graduate and undergraduate student workers when employed in the unit.

Circulation Manager - Rochester Public Library District

Library Director - Sherrard Public Library District

The Library Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Library operations, including the supervision of staff, contractors, and subcontractors. Under the supervision of the Library Director and in coordination with the Youth Coordinator, the Library Assistant creates an environment that attracts and invites teens to use the collection. Cultivates relationships with local school librarians/media specialists; presents programs of interest to youth of all ages, especially teens and pre-teens; performs reference and reader’s advisory services for customers of all ages; assists customers in their use of library catalog, computers and portable devices; assists in collection management focusing on materials of interest to teens. Responsible for maintaining and updating library’s social media outlets including Facebook page and library’s website.
