Due to a retirement, the Warrenville Public Library District seeks an individual who has a demonstrated interest in utilizing best practices to facilitate effective and efficient workflow, quality control and database management. The Head of Technical Services trains, manages, motivates and evaluates three part-time employees. Together with these employees, the department head ensures that library materials are cataloged and processed quickly and accurately. As a member of our Management Team, this individual participates in strategic planning and policy development. TECHNICAL SERVICES Library Operations Associate - Electronic Resources and Serials
Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the Electronic Resources and Serials Library Operations Associate is responsible for the acquisition and management of print serials and electronic continuing resources, including databases, archival subject collections and journals. Duties include managing the daily operations related to procuring, licensing, negotiating, tracking, and providing access to electronic resources and print serials; maintaining and updating serial holdings records in the library integrated library system; obtaining purchase requisitions and orders; submitting invoices for payment, keeping required and accurate records of transactions using institutional ERP system and departmental documentation procedure; collecting and analyzing data and statistics and preparing departmental and other reports; managing the operation of the electronic resources management systems (ERM, Serials Solutions 360 Resource Manager/Counter); liaising with the Library Systems Manager to maintain the link resolver and proxy server; reviewing workflows for efficiency and effectiveness; serving as the library's point person on issues and questions related to e-resources and serials; staying abreast of emerging trends and best practices related to e-resources and serials; serving on relevant library and university committees; and participating in professional organizations that focus on electronic continuing resources and serials; The job also requires providing reference desk services; supervising two student workers responsible for serials/index stacks maintenance, bindery management, and other duties as assigned.

Communications Coordinator and Requirements Builder - UIUC

Duties and Responsibilities  Reporting to the co-Principal investigator of a grant funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to expand and enhance the successful Data Management Planning (DMP) Tool http://dmptool.org/, the Communications Coordinator and Requirements Builder will implement and coordinate the communications activities and requirements building for the second phase of the DMPTool.  This one- year project will involve extensive interactions with the stakeholder communities for the DMPTool, including researchers, funders, librarians, and their institutions in order to gather requirements for the tool, get feedback on iterations, and increase the use of the tool.

Proficiency in full archival processing as well as More Product, Less Process. Experience writing finding guides. Knowledge of EAD, DACs and other metadata standards. Familiarity with digital formats and issues related to born-digital content. May train, supervise or review archival work by other staff. Provide reference service to patrons. Curate selected exhibits. Serve on digital collections team. Strong organizational skills. Dedicated commitment to public service. Ability to work creatively, collegially and effectively as part of a team and independently. Serving over 22,000 residents, the library is located about 30 miles west of Milwaukee and is a member of the Waukesha County Federated Library System.
