The Stoughton Public Library, Stoughton, WI is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week)  professional Youth Services Librarian to oversee operations of the Youth Services Department. The Library is looking for someone who has experience: working with children of all ages, planning and doing programming, working with collection development, supervising staff, and experience managing and working within the parameters of a budget.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within an integrative collaborative management environment and actively participate on the library management team; schedule innovative and creative programming; teach the use of the public library as a lifelong resource; help staff excel in technological explorations; and consistently present the Stoughton Public Library and its resources to the public in a positive manner.

Technology-Enhanced Spaces Support Specialist - UIUC

Job responsibilities:

·        Consult with Library faculty and staff on the development of the technology program including appropriate facilities, technologies, and training;

·         Serve as liaison with other IT managers on campus to consult on technology-enhanced environments;

·         Responsible for the specification, installation, management and support of all technology in the Scholarly Commons and Library teaching spaces and conference rooms, including those with projection equipment, computers, wall-mounted displays,  and for digital scanning equipment;

·            Work closely with the Scholarly Commons Coordinators, Coordinator for Information Literacy Services and Instruction, Staff Development and Training Librarian,  and Library IT working groups to determine how technology (hardware and software) will be implemented, secured, supported, and enhanced in these spaces;

·         Responsible for machine image collection and distribution as well as hardware installation and maintenance in these spaces;

·         Determine equipment replacement life cycle;

·         Manage software licensing for non-standard software in all spaces;

·         Develop and deliver training sessions on Library learning spaces technology use;

·         Manage Library loaner equipment pool;

·            Assists Grainger librarians and Center for Academic Resources in Engineering (CARE) staff with multimedia and classroom technology needs.

Media Commons Technology Support Specialist - UIUC

Duties and Responsibilities:
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks an innovative, collaborative, and service-oriented professional for the position of Media Commons Technology Manager. Creativity, risk-taking, and a desire to explore the intersection of new technologies and classroom learning are essential for this position.  This position is a key contributor to the Media Commons’ mission of teaching students content creation and digital literacy skills that are critical for academic success. The Media Commons Technology Support Specialist investigates the development of web design, applications, training, and related technology support that focus on the creation, storage, and use of media in teaching and course-related activities. Reporting to the Media Commons Coordinator the Media Commons Technology Support Specialist:

·    Identifies and evaluates technology solutions to meet curricular and Library programming needs of the Media Commons;

·         Consults with library faculty and key campus IT personnel on the implementation and execution of the Media Commons’ technology programs, facilities, and teaching programs;

·         Designs web-based access systems and storage to support undergraduate students’ curricular requirements in the creation, dissemination, use, and curation of digital media;

·         Pursues professional development activities to expand knowledge and to maintain current with best practices for implementing new technology in support of digital literacy;

Library Director - Davenport Public Library (Iowa)

Library Director - Greater Western Central Public Library District (Augusta)

The Board of Trustees of the Greater Western Central Public Library District is seeking a Library Director. 

GWCPD libraries are located in Augusta, Bowen, Golden, Littleton and Plymouth.  The main office is in Augusta, Illinois. 

This is a 30-hour per week salaried position.  Benefits include paid holidays, vacation and sick leave.  Compensation is $23,000 annually.  The ideal candidate would have a degree in library and information science and a minimum of two years post-degree employment; preferably one year in library management, strong leadership skills, familiarity with public library finances and a knowledge of library law.  An understanding of rural libraries, regulations of the IL State Library System, RAILS and RSA is necessary.
