Getting Ready For OCLC’s New Interlibrary Loan Service
The WorldCat Resource Sharing interlibrary loan service libraries receive through the Illinois statewide OCLC contract will be replaced this year by a new service, OCLC WorldShare™ Interlibrary Loan. WorldShare™ Interlibrary Loan will deliver new and expanded functionality that supports evolving workflow changes, such as the option to purchase instead of borrow needed materials.
The service’s interoperation with other applications, such as the display of lender costs from the OCLC Policies Directory and display of item availability from a library’s ILS, will be supported by the new WorldShare Platform.

This year’s Illinois Library Association (ILA) Annual Conference is set for Navy Pier in Chicago, October 15-17. The theme for this year’s event is “Ignite!”, with fire symbolizing the burning enthusiasm of the library profession.

The ILA Annual Conference Program Committee is seeking program proposals that focus on engaging the community, stimulating imagination, fostering creativity and ingenuity, sharing gifts and talents, and demonstrating leadership for libraries of every size and every type

SHARE Update - 87 Days to Polaris

We've hit the ground running! Since Friday, January 4, we have conducted nine QuickStart and Offline Circ training sessions in five locations. Of the 121 library staff members trained in those sessions, approximately 75 of them participated in the Train the Trainer program, and will be training the rest of the staff in their libraries.

If you ordered hardware from the SHARE credits program, the equipment has all physically arrived in our offices. We are in the process of sorting it out and getting individual library orders ready for pickup. We will be in contact about various ways to pick up your equipment from around our area.

The Illinois State Library is pleased to release the FY2012-2013 Illinois Public Library Annual Report (IPLAR) data collection tool using the LibPAS software for data collection.

To access the Illinois Public Library Annual Report using the LibPAS portal, you will need to know your library’s Illinois State Library User Name and Password.
