Maintenance Update
The Gatenet membership is currently using release 2009b 1.3 The most current Millennium software release is 2009b 1.4 On Wednesday, August 3, Innovative will begin the Maintenance Update to the latest version.
A Maintenance Update installs updated software within our current software release. Maintenance Updates do not require system downtime or a system reboot. Library staff can continue to work on the system while the update is being installed.
What should I expect while the Maintenance Update is being installed?
The installation may take a couple of hours, but there is no downtime while the Maintenance Update is being installed. Library staff can continue to work as usual during the installation.
Are there any functions I should avoid using while a Maintenance Update is being installed?
Innovative recommends that you postpone creating large lists in the Create Lists function or performing large record loads while the update is being installed. These functions can slow the updates progress and may delay completion of the installation.
How will I know the update is complete?
Innovative staff will contact GateNet staff either by email or phone and will send e-mail out to the membership.
What should I expect after the update has been installed?
The first time Staff logs into the Millennium software after the update it downloads the new jar files resulting in a slight delay. On most computers this will only take a minute or two.
