Collection of Music CDs

The Cataloging Maintenance Center (CMC) staff at the Champaign office was asked to catalog CDs from Roosevelt University in Chicago that are part of a special collection.

The first delivery contained 259 total items divided in 3 boxes. Some of the genres of the CDs include operas, Gregorian chants, symphonies, and suites.

The Cataloging Maintenance Center (CMC) continues working on projects while Illinois maintains its shelter-in-place policy. Some projects that staff are working on include creating authority records, transcribing local oral histories for Marshall Public Library, performing database cleanup for PrairieCat, creating Moodle courses and presentations, and cataloging.

A new Moodle course, Subject Analysis, is a 6-week course and worth 15 continuing education credits. This course will run from May 11-June 19. Registration is limited to 25 students and registration closes on May 5.

Vince and HeidiThe Cataloging Maintenance Center (CMC) staff, like the rest of IHLS staff, is working remotely while staying in their homes. While we are at home, Vince Andrzejewski retired, after 11 years working tirelessly for the CMC, and at the same time we welcomed new staff member Heidi Margold, whom most of us have only met virtually.
