Literary Congress of Clubs program



The Bloomington Public Library sent several souvenir programs from the 19th and 20th century to the Cataloging Maintenance Center (CMC) for cataloging. The programs are shelved in their Illinois collection.

Mattoon Public Library received between 400-450 donated braille books from the Eastern Illinois Area of Special Education, ranging from children to adult level.

The Cataloging Maintenance Center (CMC) catalogs local authors, local history, genealogy, and foreign language materials. "Special collections" can include many different things such as Superman items, Abraham Lincoln materials, local government documents, or microfilm. We see many yearbooks, cookbooks, and family histories.

The Dixon Public Library has a local history archival collection of letters and other papers of Frank E. Stevens. The collection consists of book contracts, correspondence, notes, newspaper articles, documents, and ancillary materials of Frank E. Stevens from the years 1832 to 1938.

The temperance movement of the 18th and early 19th centuries was a social movement dedicated to emphasizing the negative impacts of alcohol on health, morality, and family life and restricting its consumption.

Illinois has four fountains erected by the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. The Cataloging Maintenance Center just cataloged WCTU Drinking Fountains.

The Cataloging Maintenance Center (CMC) is helping the Dixon Public Library with cataloging their local history collection. A couple of these items include sheet music for their local festival and facsimiles of the first and second drafts of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.
