COVID-19 UPDATE
Staying in compliance with Illinois' stay-at-home executive order and the federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act

We have several pieces of information that we’d like to share with you as we finish up the first week of compliance with Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order to Stay at Home.

The first is information shared by attorney Phil Lenzini in response to questions we’ve been frequently hearing from our membership.

We are also sharing the Essential Businesses & Operations document that has been developed by the Illinois Department of Commerce. This document answers questions such as "What businesses and operations are considered essential?" and "My business is not considered an 'Essential Business,' does this order require the business to shut
down my facility?"

Third, here you can find the U.S. Department of Labor Employee Rights Poster that every employer must post before April 1, 2020. This updated poster reflects the changes to the Paid Sick Leave and Expanded Family and Medical Leave Act under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.

You may also want to take note of the resources curated by the American Library Association and the Illinois Library Association, in addition to the resources posted on IHLS's COVID-19 webpage, which includes this new article by IHLS Membership Coordinator Anna Yackle.

Please check your e-mail and our website on a frequent basis in order to stay connected to information in support of library services and library workers.

Thank you!
