Dear IHLS Members,
Today, Governor Pritzker announced that tomorrow he will be signing an executive order extending the stay-at-home order and school suspensions through the end of April. In compliance with this executive order, suspension of IHLS Delivery services will continue through April 30.
All IHLS locations will be closed during this time, and administrative staff will continue to work remotely. IHLS will continue to provide support and resources as they become available, and administrative staff and directors will continue to be available by email.
Meanwhile, we’d like to point out a few resources you may find useful:
- Staying in compliance with Illinois' stay-at-home executive order and the federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act – The email and article from IHLS containing information for employers and libraries regarding complying with the Stay at Home Executive Order, including links to the attorney Phil Lenzini’s response to questions asked by IHLS-member libraries, a link to the U.S. Department of Labor Employee Rights / Coronavirus Families First Act Poster (to be posted by April 1), and more.
- IHLS COVID-19 Updates and Resources for Illinois Libraries – Our COVID-19 webpage highlights reliable sources of COVID-19 information, resources for librarians, resources for patrons, and COVID-19 informational events; also includes the schedule of upcoming IHLS Directors’ Chats (text-based), transcripts of past chats, and an archive of IHLS COVID-19 email updates and blog articles. This page is updated frequently and recent updates are noted. Additional articles and resources by IHLS staff will be added weekly.
- IMLS Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates – The Institute of Museum and Library Services provides COVID-19-related grant application deadline updates, resources for libraries, and a recording and transcript to their March 30 webinar, Mitigating COVID-19 when Managing Paper-Based, Circulating, and Other Types of Collections.
If you can identify something that IHLS can do for you and your library, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your colleagues at IHLS. Until then, each of us at IHLS wishes you, your family, and your colleagues a safe and healthy April.
Warmly,
Leslie
