Assurance of IHLS Delivery Service

Should a Region Revert to Phase 3 of the Restore Illinois Plan

IHLS Library Members,

In light of the increasing coronavirus positivity rates and other metrics tracked in the Restore Illinois pandemic plan, it's possible that Region 4, the Metro East Region, or another of the plan's 11 regions could move back into Phase 3. We want to assure our member libraries that IHLS Delivery will continue to operate and make deliveries should Region 4 or any region reenter Phase 3.

We are confident that the procedures we have put into place have greatly improved the safety of our delivery workflow. However, if at any time your library decides it would not like IHLS delivery, please email the Delivery Department at ihlsdelivery@illinoisheartland.org

Other questions or concerns? Please contact your delivery hub manager:

Linda Kates, Champaign Hub Manager

Linda Petty, Edwardsville/Carbondale Hub Manager

Is your library also a member of the SHARE consortium?

Should one or more Restore Illinois regions regress to Phase 3, SHARE will also continue to operate without any SHARE-wide changes. However, if you are a SHARE member and decide at any point that you would like to suspend interlibrary loan holds, please email SHARE at share@illinoisheartland.org.

Other questions or concerns? Please contact a SHARE staff member:
Cassandra Thompson. SHARE Director
Dena Porter, SHARE Administrative Services Supervisor

On behalf of Illinois Heartland Library System, thank you for your cooperation and your continued partnership in providing the residents of Illinois with safe resource sharing.

Sincerely,

Leslie M. Bednar, Executive Director
