About the Statement
AISLE and the Rebecca Caudill Young Readers' Book Awards have released a joint statement in light of recent objections to the children’s and young adult literature selected for Illinois Readers' Choice Award lists. IHLS is proud to join our partners at ILA and RAILS in signing in support of this statement. These awards honor students' voices and choices, and we at IHLS fully support them. Participating in such programs is widely recognized as a best practice for schools and libraries.
