The Sorter is a part-time position. The primary role of the Sorter is to assist in the daily sorting of books and other library materials transported by IHLS courier drivers. Other responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of the delivery tubs and bags, shelving IHLS books, delivering library materials to IHLS staff, and performing other clerical duties.

Courier Drivers are a critical component to the provision of customer service. These positions sort and deliver books and other library materials to and from member libraries. Courier Driver services are provided Mondays through Fridays.

Perform and direct highly complex and varied tasks requiring independent knowledge, its application and exercise of independent judgment. This position requires a Master’s degree in Library Science with three years library customer service experience and two years supervisory experience. Five years circulation and experience with OCLC interlibrary loan and circulation processes of integrated library systems preferred. Weekend and evening work hours are required.
