Join Leah Gregory, IHLS Membership Coordinator–Schools Liaison, and Janette Derucki, RAILS Data Analyst, invite you to sit down with them in their new podcast all about school libraries, Can't Shelve This. Together, the co-hosts aim to create a space for school library workers to feel seen, entertained, and informed all at once, now available on popular streaming platforms. Episode one, titled “You Can Totally Sit With Us,” introduces listeners to the podcast’s co-hosts as they discuss what they’ve observed happening across school libraries in Illinois—the good, the bad, and the ugly.

"Being a school librarian is a unique, and oftentimes lonely, experience," said RAILS Executive Director Monica Harris. "We're hoping that Can't Shelve This shines a well-deserved spotlight on school library workers and brings some levity into their lives through entertainment and connection."

Eight hour-long episodes will be released throughout the 2024-2025 school year and feature guests from across the country.

Listen and subscribe to the first episode of Can’t Shelve This now on Apple PodcastsSpotify, iHeartRadio, or YouTube. Subscribers receive notifications of new episodes as soon as they're launched.
