We have recently discovered an issue with certain scanners used for Polaris. These scanners are having trouble reading duplicated barcodes, which are printed in Code 39 format. The problem has been reported by libraries using 2D scanners, but it may affect other types of scanners as well. To ensure accurate scanning and data entry, please confirm that your scanner is capable of reading Code 39 by following these instructions. You can also test this by scanning a book with the IHLS duplicated barcodes. If the item's record comes up, then your scanner has Code 39 reading capability.
